Competition Taekwondo, also called Olympic-style Taekwondo, or Sport Taekwondo takes the dynamic kicking and avoidance skills of Traditional Taekwondo and translates them into a fast paced individual sport. Sport Taekwondo is one of only two Asian martial arts accepted into the Olympics. Taekwondo was a demonstration event in the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, Korea and became a full-medal Olympic sport in the 2000 Sydney, Australia games.
Jay's Taekwondo is the home of Alaska's High Level Training Center and the training place of Alaska's first three 18-32 year old Black Belt Sparring Medalists. We have a history of national and international champions and with our participation in the 2011 Junior Olympic and Senior National Competition we hope to add to our long list of medalists!
